As Seen On

How It Works

The Tri-Wave laser device uses diodes to emit infrared laser beams in either continuous or pulsed phases. Continuous mode enables a gentle and light treatment of more superficial conditions, such as tendon or ligament injuries.

Super-pulsed mode enables stronger treatment of more severe conditions by preventing heat generation, with the beams carrying safety by intensive treatment. The intervals are added via a fiber optic cable to the light aiming beam, which is aimed over the skin using the red treatment wand, which as treatment is delivered, infrared light penetrates the tissue at the correct dosage, depth and duration.

The light energy causes biochemical changes to occur at cellular level, stimulating cell proliferation leading to wound repair. Free nerve endings are also stimulated, blocking pain pathways and bringing rapid relief to the horse.

4 Principle Effects

As laser stimulates profound change at a deep cellular level, its many beneficial effects are highly interrelated.

Tissue healing

Heightened fibroblast development and cellular reproduction induces faster healing in tendons, ligaments, nerves and muscles, with less scar tissue produced.

Anti-Inflammatory

Reduction of localized swelling and blocking of pro-inflammatory molecules, benefiting injuries and joint conditions.

Muscular

Relief of spasm and pain occurs, with improved vascular activity benefiting lymph and blood circulation, and healing of exercise-induced microtears.

Analgesic

Effects on the epidermal and subcutaneous neural network lead to reduction of acute and chronic pain, and improved nerve function.

650nm wavelength

This wavelength is best used for wound healing and scar tissue regeneration by promoting healing of skin surface tissues. The wavelength is largely absorbed by the melanin in the skin, inhibiting bacteria proliferation and promoting fine cell growth.

810nm wavelength

This wavelength rapidly activates the hemoglobin oxygenation process to transfer energy supplies from blood into muscles and tendons. This promotes tissue regeneration and increases ATP production.

980nm wavelength

This wavelength decreases pain via the analgesic effect by optimizing thermoreceptors and mechanoreceptor interactions with the peripheral nervous system. This activates the gate-control mechanism to produce the analgesia.
